This volume consists primarily of muster rolls (somtimes in separate old bindings), drawn up at the time of the 1st Castro War (1641-43). It is of very considerable interest to military and social historians since these muster rolls offer much statistical and demographic data regarding the militiamen, including their ages, places of origin and occupations. Also: There is a muster roll from 1596 (Insert Two, bound in an evidently quattrocento parchment sheet from a commentary on the "Corpus Juris Canonici".) A trial in latin and Italian against some common thieves, dated 1641 (Insert Three).
